cleaning stuff

I prefer natural remedies to chemical cleaners, and as I get more organized starting out this blog, I will add more "recipes" for stuff.  Some things we always have an abundance of around the house are : Baking Soda, Hydrogen Peroxide, Hawaiian Sea Salt, Tea Tree Oil, and Vinegar...just to name a few.  Also, we totally love Dr. Bronner's Soaps.  For laundry, I use Soap Nuts, they are from a plant widely grown and used in India and they can be ordered online or bought at what we call "twigs&berries" stores.
   Anyways, more later...

Homeschooling

I guess I always knew I'd homeschool my kids...my daughter just "graduated" at 17 and my son is 13.  They've both done some time at what we call Traditional School and it was ok.  When my daughter was 10 she went for a few months when we lived in Las Vegas and it was a waste of time for us.  She did another few months of High School in Hawaii(on the Big Island), it too was something she just thought of as a way to hang out and meet more friends who lived near us.  The boy on the other hand, who did a few months when he was 11, could go either way.

MATH and SOCIALIZATION.... So why is it that these are the ONLY issues non-homeschoolers ever bring up?!  I have loads to say about these topics but don't have the time right no to get rambling.

I'm kind of all over the place when it comes to describing our experiences, but that is the way our life is as well.  The bottom line for me is that my children view the world as their back yard and they are both very creative, independent, and motivated.
